Nutrition Workshops: My Healthy Plate

As a teenager entering adulthood who recognizes the prevalence of fast food in the U.S., Angela believes that it is crucial for kids to learn about healthy eating habits. As soon as they enter school, kids begin to make their own food choices in the cafeteria and at home. Healthy food is an essential element of a healthy lifestyle. With physical activity and dieting, everyone can lower their chances of cancer, obesity, and other illnesses. Everyone is at risk of developing unhealthy habits, so she hopes to teach more pre-teenagers about the endless possibilities of adopting a nutritious, yet simple lifestyle. In her workshops, she spreads knowledge about nutrition through both informational presentations and hands-on healthy cooking labs. After the students learn the main takeaways, they incorporate their knowledge and skills into making a nutritious meal. Angela has noticed the positive attitudes even between students that barely know each other, which is truly a mood booster on a rough day. From the workshops, Angela hopes that young teenagers will be able to make informed choices that develop into lifelong healthy habits.
